12. Remote Access Support Services

As part of our professional support offerings, [Your Company Name] may provide remote access to network-attached devices located in your residential property.

These devices may include:

  • Routers

  • Switches

  • Firewalls

  • Wireless access points

  • Network controllers or smart hubs

Purpose of Remote Access

Remote access is offered solely to:

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting

  • Apply firmware updates and security patches

  • Monitor network health or performance (if authorised)

  • Reconfigure settings upon request

Data Handled During Remote Access

We may temporarily access:

  • Network configuration details

  • Device logs or IP/MAC address information

  • Connected device metadata (e.g. hostnames)

  • Internal traffic statistics (non-content)

We do not access the content of your communications, personal files, or internet usage history.

Consent and Controls

Remote access is conducted:

  • Only with your prior consent, either via service agreement or ad hoc approval

  • Over secure encrypted connections (e.g. SSH, VPN, HTTPS)

  • Logged and monitored for accountability

You may revoke access or request a full access audit at any time by contacting our support team.

Third-Party Tools

We may use reputable remote access tools (e.g. UniFi, MikroTik, DrayTek, or similar platforms) configured in line with UK GDPR and manufacturer best practices. These platforms may process limited metadata in accordance with their own privacy policies, which we can provide upon request.

13. CCTV Systems – Diagnostic & AI Stream Access

For clients who engage Vectr to design and install CCTV systems, we may require access to your camera system and video feeds strictly for the purposes of system support, diagnostics, and—when contractually agreed—advanced AI-based stream processing.

Diagnostic Access

We may access your CCTV system to:

  • Diagnose camera feed or connectivity issues

  • Apply firmware or software updates

  • Test live camera availability (not for continuous monitoring)

  • Configure or troubleshoot Video Management Systems (VMS)

Access is time-limited, consent-based, and does not involve the storage or review of footage unless required for resolving a specific technical issue.

AI Stream Processing (Contractual Services Only)

If you subscribe to advanced AI-powered security services as part of your installation package, your CCTV video feeds may be routed to trusted AI stream processing engines for:

  • Trigger accuracy improvement (e.g. motion/person/vehicle detection)

  • False positive reduction (e.g. shadows, animals, foliage)

  • Enhanced alerting and event classification

This provides a more comprehensive and intelligent security layer, particularly for clients with high-value properties or complex coverage zones.

Such AI integration is:

  • Only implemented when explicitly agreed in the client contract

  • Discussed as part of the wider project scope and sales engagement

  • Configured to limit retention, analysis, and access to video streams in line with UK GDPR

  • Conducted using trusted third-party processors under appropriate Data Processing Agreements

Clients may request a full list of processing partners or a data flow summary as part of onboarding.
